The application of nanomaterials in the field of antibacterial preservation can provide effective antibacterial properties and extend the shelf life of food.
1) Nano titanium dioxide: Nano titanium dioxide has photocatalytic activity and antibacterial activity. Under light conditions, nanotitanium dioxide can produce reactive oxygen species, such as hydroxyl radicals and superoxide radicals, which have a bactericidal effect on bacteria and fungi. Nano titanium dioxide can be used in fields such as food packaging materials, agricultural product preservation and air purification.
2) Nano zinc oxide: Nano zinc oxide has antibacterial and antifungal activities. Nano-zinc oxide can inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi by interacting with the cell membrane of microorganisms, destroying their structure and function. Nano zinc oxide can be added to food packaging materials, food storage containers and food processing equipment to reduce microbial contamination.
3) Nanocomposite materials: Nanomaterials can be combined with other materials to form nanocomposites, which have antibacterial and preservation properties. For example, nano-titanium oxide and nano-silver can be combined with polymers in food packaging materials or food films to form composite materials with antibacterial and fresh-keeping functions.
4) Nano-chitosan: Nano-chitosan is an antibacterial material of natural origin. Nanochitosan has versatility and antibacterial properties and can be used in food packaging materials, food coatings and food storage containers to reduce bacterial and fungal contamination.
5) Nanosilver: Nanosilver is a common antibacterial material with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. Nanosilver can inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacterial cells through contact with them. Nanosilver can be added to food packaging materials, refrigerator storage boxes and food containers to inhibit bacterial growth and extend the shelf life of food.
