Introduction to SB powder and ultra-micro nano alternatives

SB (sasol boehmite) powder is a high quality and high purity pseudo-boehmite made of high purity aluminum and high alcohol as raw materials. It is widely used in catalyst field because of its good crystal shape, easy to control pore structure, large specific surface area and high purity. It is embodied in the following two aspects:


1. Used as a binder for catalysts in petrochemical industry


The acid-dissolved pseudo-boehite has adhesive properties and is one of the main components of the aluminum-based binders for FCC catalysts. Pseudo-boehmite as a binder can not only improve the strength of catalyst, but also adjust the pore size distribution of catalyst, improve the hydrothermal stability of catalyst, adjust the acid active center density of catalyst, and improve the catalytic activity.


2. Used as catalyst or catalyst carrier


Pseudo-boehmite is widely used in the production of chemical, oil refining and petrochemical reaction catalyst carrier, its typical examples such as hydrofining catalyst carrier, reforming catalyst carrier, methanation catalyst carrier and so on. Pseudo-bauxite can also be used as a catalyst after dehydration, and the γ-alumina obtained after low temperature roasting is used as Claus sulfur recovery catalyst, ethanol isomerization catalyst, ethanol dehydration catalyst, etc.


In contrast, the domestic sodium aluminate solution carbonation method is mainly used to produce middle and low grade products, and its application in the catalyst field is limited, and it is generally only used to synthesize catalysts with low purity and structure requirements of raw materials, such as hydrothermal synthesis method to produce molecular sieve.
